ABOUT ME

I am a queer, South Asian psychotherapist based in Oakland, CA.

I love what I do. It is a privilege to connect deeply with another and bear witness to an extraordinary journey. As a therapist, I bring a warm, non-judgmental, heart-centered presence to our work together. I'll invite you to slow down with me so that we can allow things to emerge that don't have the space to when we are busy or distracted. We will strengthen our knowledge about and connections to our nervous systems and our intuition, with the goal of increasing our embodiment, self-acceptance and self-compassion, insight and internal knowledge, and movement towards greater integration of all parts of our self.

I bring specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Relational Somatic Healing (RSH), and experience working within LGBTQQIP2SA+ communities to our work together.  Previously, I have served as a therapist in hospitals, schools, and community mental health centers in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to my clinical work, I am a published  researcher and academic studying race, class, gender, & the social determinants of health and mental health. My scholarship deeply informs my clinical practice, where I prioritize an intersectional, liberatory, & trauma-informed lens.

Outside of my therapy practice, I love art, photography, dance, fashion, astrology, tarot, herbalism, writing, and podcasts about the myriad ways we heal. If these interests overlap with any of yours, you are welcome to bring them into our work together.

If you feel an alignment with my offerings, I would be honored to support you on your journey.
